HARRISBIOMEDICAL now offers a series of 7-hour HIV/AIDS education seminars, to satisfy the demand to meet Washington State Substitute House Bill 1099.

During its 2007 regular session, the Washington State Legislature adopted a number of new rules and amended several others affecting the dental industry. Of particular interest to many – and one which now has the attention of dentists and dental assistants throughout the state – was Substitute House Bill 1099 – an “An act Relating to Dental Professionals”.

Among other things, SHB 1099 “establishes dental assistants and expanded function dental auxiliaries as new health professions to be regulated by the Dental Quality Assurance Commission”. It also requires that dental assistants must register with the Department of Health no later than July 1, 2008 and outlines the registering requirements for those who must become registered dental assistants.
